Recommended 1440p monitor

Hey guys

 

I need a couple of recommendations for 1440p monitors. I have the GTX 1080 for my graphics card. It's going to be mostly for gaming, Crunchyroll YouTube and I would like to stream eventually.

 

Can y'all help me out? Budget would be around $500, no more than $650.

I highly recommend the PG279Q from Asus ROG division. Has the following:

 

- 1440p

- 165hz refresh rate (it's amazing)

- IPS

- Gsync

- almost no IPS glow

- great quality control and colours in general

- easy to use OSD control panel and has cool red lighting (which can be turned off if need be)

7800x3d - RTX 4090 FE - 64GB-6000C30 - 2x2TB 990 Pro - 4K 144HZ

I picked mine up at MicroCenter for $749. $100 over OPs budget but well worth it. Also the whole backlight thing is blown way out of per portion. My panel has it but you only see it in pitch black when you are looking for it and you have to be standing looking into the monitor.

Just keeping this here as a The XB271HU has the same problems, just a tad less. The PG279Q also sells a lot more, so there are more mentions of problems.

I beg to differ. I've got 2 XB271HU monitors neither of which have any issues at all including backlight bleed. Where as the 5 29Qs I bought all had horrid backlight bleed. and didn't actually oc.

Im sure the QC is better on the Acer, but I highly doubt from what ive read that its "good". Just look at the amazon reviews.

Using the newegg and amazon reviews as evidence shows that I'm not alone. There were originally issues with both panels, but after November 2015 Acer recalled all of their monitors and re QC'ed them. Any box with a manu date > November 2015 has a much higher chance of not having any issues. Asus didn't do anything of the sort and basically ignored the problem.

Alright, m8. I believe you, but I doubt that the chance of getting a perfect panel is any higher than 60%. 

 

ASUS is just a joke atm. They know people will buy their stuff anyway..

So, would it be 1440p? According to Newegg it says it's 2k.  It's an IPS Panel with 75hz refresh rate. That seems pretty decent.

I just ordered the 34UM68-P. I'll update when I get it in. The LG split screen features, on screen controls, 75hz and ultrawide look amazing. I can't wait!

Well, its a 2560x1080 ultrawide monitor. So not a 1440p.
