I have an Intel Core i7 6700k, not sure if I'm going to overclock or not, but I want to be prepared. What's the best CPU Air Cooler for it? Looking for good temps and according to my case, can only fit 156mm height CPU Coolers, but I've seen 1 or 2 people use 160mm CPU Coolers, so idk how they did that. My case is the InWin 805. I just want safe temps when idle (under 30C)/load(under 60C).

Idle temps don't really matter and you're fine up to 80-90c at load.

Not sure where you got your 'safe temps' from but they're very low.

What cooler are you currently using? Why get a new cooler?

Those would be very good temps but it's much lower than necessary. So you don't have a cooler yet?

No I don't that's what I need advice on. I wanted to get the NZXT x61, but I decided that I wanted air for the reliability and the longevity.

That's a lot more expensive than necessary if you aren't planning to push the oc as far as possible.

If you would like a cooler recommendation, it would help to know where you're shopping/located.

An Aidos Black would work: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KPUHQ84/?tag=pcpapi-20

If you want to get a beefier cooler for higher oc's while keeping noise down, the FUMA is another option: http://pcpartpicker.com/product/dVwqqs/scythe-cpu-cooler-scfm1000

My problem is, is that my case says the CPU cooler clearance is 156mm, but I've seen people use a Noctua NH-D14 which is a 160mm CPU cooler. So idk what to do.

It seems like they're understating the clearance just in case.

I was considering the Phanteks PH-TC12DX (If I can even fit it) or the PH-TC14S

They probably fit but no guarantees.
