Does anyone know what graphics card (if any) will not bottleneck a celeron 1007u? i want to use one of those egpu thingis on my old laptop to squeeze as much performance out of it as possible

Maybe a gt210 it is a dual core ivybridge at 1.5GHz, even a core 2 duo would be less of a bottleneck.

Well , it's a dual core ivy bridge at 1.5ghz . Maybe an hd 7850 or hd 7770 ?

No, the igpu would be faster.

My suggestion would be to just get another system that cpu was only designed for things like web browsing/word processing, it cannot handle anything more demanding.

It is slower then some core 2 duos.

remember this is ivy bridge though , not conroe .If you ignore the nomenclature , it still is a processor with near twice the IPC of most C2D's . Sure , it's not a beast , but it should be able to handle lower end cards like a 7770 or similar .

i never said anything about the gtx 750 . I meant cards in the 7770-ish range should be fine . Also , never use gpuboss for comparisons ....

So what I'm hearing is that you want to game on a Celeron? I mean, it's not impossible, but it isn't going to be good by any stretch of the imagination.. Not to mention, most of those eGPU enclosures require thunderbolt, something many low-end laptops do not have, if any at all.

Just my $0.02, but I think you'll be spending too much money on something that is entirely impractical.

NEVER trust GPUBoss for comparisons, ever.  They're not a reliable source.  Instead, use something like Anandtech's bench.

idk, cause i saw someone on youtube (cant remember who though) who used the pcie slot for you wifi card and he used an extension bridge of sorts, then connected a power supply and benchmarked it. i think it was called like the edc gpu v8.0 or something weird like that

Yes, that is a viable option. But, you're failing to recognize the main point here. Your CPU is going to bottleneck damn near anything and everything that is cost effective for gaming, not to mention you're royally screwed in CPU bound games. Maybe a 7770 or 750/ti will work, but you're still likely to be bottlenecked AND restricted by your CPU. It's just not worth the headache in my opinion.

What I know was that none of the current "practical" (entry level's wasting money) GPU would run on your CPU without bottlenecking. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Cool idea - yes

Practical - not in the least

I don't intend to crush dreams, and I can't tell you how to spend your money. If you want to do this with a Titan XP, I can't stop you, I'm simply here to let you know more or less what to expect. Trust me, I would love to try this out too, I just don't have the funds to justify a purchase like that (even though I could use most any GPU with the i7 6700k in my laptop)
