So for really nice quality sound i was in the market for a dac that i can plug my headphone. And a microphone? I was looking for a pretty good doc/amp for like streaming & etc.

I have a very small budget of about $100 USD. I am a brand new to this side of audio so i dont know a lot. The mic i was looking at was the blu yeti and my motherboard is a ASUS z170-a

PS( love to know prices and if i even need one for gaming and streaming plus if there is a better beginner mic for a lower price Tell me)

Thanks a lot :)

1. What headphones are you using

2. That mic is USB, so a DAC and amp would not do anything for it

3. Please tell me you didn't watch the idiot luke trying to talk about audio.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Feel free to pm me if you have a question for me or quote me. If you want to hear what I have to say about something just tag me.

yeah it is not worth spending money on a DAC and amp for those unless your onboard is fucked up

ok cool thanks but any recommendations

because ei am in the market for a new headset or should i just use an astro headset and amp

You still don't need it... DACs and amps are for when you have headphones that onboard cannot drive or if your onboard is super bad or if you have good high end headphones, it is hard to recommend a DAC and amp for so low end things(I am not trying to be mean), because for that kind of money you pay extra you could have gotten better headphones. If you spend 200$ on headphones and 100$ on DAC and amp, then you could have gotten 300$ headphones with higher audio quality. The jump in audio quality down in those prices are generally pretty good and a DAC and amp combo would provide you with a smaller jump than just higher end headphones.

Also read the pinned post about DACs and amps.

Further more get headphones, you already have a mic, no need to get shitty headsets, there is a pinned post with lots of recommendations
