Windows 10 transfer?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if it was possible to transfer my windows 10 copy i got after upgrading windows 8.1 on my HP laptop to windows 10 to my main pc (which is currently running linux). I got the idea from this article:

As long as you have the activation code, shouldn't be too much of an issue. Obviously, backup everything first just in case.

It will become deactivated because it is not the same motherboard.

There's some confusion when it comes to keys sometimes, but the code/keys you're looking for are of the 5x5 set (25-character) form as in xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx.

 

The Product ID you see when you click 'Properties' on My Computer isn't the same.
