Hi everyone, i'm having an annoying issue with my new GL552. I've put 32GB of RAM and a 750 EVO 500GB SSD in it.

Whenever I close the lid, it seems to shut down. But the laptop gets hot when it's off, and the battery will drain. It's set to go to sleep when the lid is closed, but in order to power it back on I need to take the battery out and put it back in.

Any advice? O.o

Me neither, at least it's better than the horrible GT72S I had. :D

What what? What happened to your GT72s? I wanted to get the Pascal refresh one.

HORRIBLE build quality (GL552 is all plastic, but it's a really nice build.), it died twice (both motherboard failures). MSI had the laptop for over two months in the first RMA until they gave me a replacement unit. Shortly after that, the motherboard died again. Another month without the laptop. It now resides at my grandmothers house as a movie-watching PC xD

The plastic GL552 has some screen flex issues that can cause pre-mature failure.

Huh, the flex on mine doesn't seem too bad

It's much worse than what it should be (on the black model. The grey one is metal)

Yeah, I have the plastic one. TN screen isn't very good, but it's okay for what I use it for. Wanted to send it back but i'm over the 14 day limit now. :(

Overall I prefer it over the MSI's, though.

Shit son. Maybe you were just unlucky? Damn, I was considering between MSI and Clevo for my DTR.
