Best 1060/480

Hey guys, been looking to upgrade and not really sure what to do/which card. Found a Gigabyte 1060 that I like the look of and it is in stock, but also found an article announcing a STRIX 480. Can anyone help me with which one is better in just raw performance and price to performance? (Price isn't released for 480 STRIX so I guess we can't figure that out). I play mostly AAA titles, (Witcher 3, GTA V, Just Cause 3, BF1 when it comes) on a 1080p 60hz monitor.

These prices are CAD. I realize the CPU will bottleneck, looking to upgrade later on.

The 1060 is 7% faster than a 480 in DX11, the 480 has better price to performance than the 1060.

I would still pick the GTX 1060/480 depending on the price

In your opinion, do you think that DX12 games will be the future and the 480 will thrive and maybe improve performance on current games with driver optimization?

I'd stick to the GA 1060. Lord knows when the Strix 480 will actually be in stock, and at which pricepoint that'll happen.

I don't like red (so MSI is out) and while I am a complete fanboy for this generation's strix design, I don't quite think it's worth 40$ (after rebates!) either.

Well consider that Asus sucks in a way ask @don_svetlio , id get MSI,my favorite ones out of Gigabyte or Asus

MSI are having major issues at the moment. Avoid them.

Asus customer support is trash and Gigabyte are loud as fuck.

For Nvidia - EVGA, Zotac, Galax
For AMD - Sapphire, XFX, PowerColor

Zotac is my favorite out of all man for Nvidia just for being sire power,galax is also,i don't like EVGA just because of how they fucked up the look of there cards,and before don you say i said MSI is my favorite,i said "MSI is my favorite out of Gigabyte or Asus"

 

But if he could find a Zotac,EVGA (if he likes the looks) or Galax card for a reasonable price id get them

From what I managed to understand, MSI used shit memory this gen causing massive failures and nearly 100% RMA ratio (for 1070s at least but I'd imagine it could affect other models too).

If noise doesn't bother me, is this the best card? Or does having lots of fan noice produce other problems? ( I am usually wearing noise cancelling headphones.)
