the 1070 is the best power for your money, and means you have a bit of spare money for upgrades. Hope this helps :)

Well the i5 will do good both in 60Hz and in 144Hz,but if you wan't the best get a i7 for 144Hz even tho the i5 will still be decent (i'm not saying the i5 sucks but the i7 will be better of course)

That's not how it works. Your computer is a system and if that system isn't balanced you won't get the most out of it. For a 1080 you should have a modern i7. With the 1070 you still won't get the most out of it but a i5 will work.

They are neck and neck. The 1070 has the added 2g of memory and a little better performance in newer APIs. Why I'd go with the 1070.
