Easiest VPN Server

Hello everyone I am looking for a way to set up a VPN server so I can connect to my home network from my laptop or my phone when at the library or at someone elses house.

 

So far I have tried openVPN and SoftEther and both of these made my brain fry. I was going to use hamachi but this wouldn't work for my phone.

 

Is there a simple to set up VPN server software OR a simple tutorial for openVPN or softether FOR WINDOWS. As far as I am aware my router is not able to set one up.

LOL thanks I tried this before and it didn't work but this time I tried again and didn't type in :1723 when connecting to the VPN and it worked perfectly

Thanks for that I took a look at it but I don't have an Ubuntu VM yet is there a way to follow that guide using windows?

Not for windows, but you could easily run an ubuntu vm in virtualbox on top of windows.

 

 

Here is an old guide I did for installing ubuntu on virtualbox. Just use ubuntu server instead of desktop if you want.
