I have a 970 windforce (non g1) and for some reason the nvidia drivers keep crashing and recovering. it happens randomly and after they crash and recover my gpu clock is around 400mhz. I have to disable and reenable my gpu in order for my mhz to return to their correct place. Its insanely annoying and ive tried everything!!!!!!!! HALP

Ya im about to do that. I just bought this card and not sure which drivers to use. Currently researching

Just an opinion, but if you just bought it maybe return it and save up some cash for a 1070

Thankyou. he was asking 200. got him down. As i type this my drivers crashed again lol.

Obliterate drivers with DDU then install the latest ones or 361.74 or something. I forgot the name of the person who keeps bitching about nvidia drivers.

Went ahead and did it and installed latest drivers. Restarted my pc for chances to take effect and as soon as my icons and such show up, I get the notification my drivers have crashed. iGPU is off, card is super clean, not overclocked, latest drivers, not sure what else there is.

Could it potentially be a power problem? I cant see that being the problem as it crashes randomly while im on my browser not gaming, so im using very minumal power. I have the 6pin plug on the card hooked up to 2 molex connections. The adaptors were in the box and said gigabyte on the plastic so i assumed it was ok to use them. The 2 molex connectors i have linked to it are also on a wire with other molex hooked up to my fans. Just thought of all of this while typing lol

I believe since i disabled the iGPU, it has solved one of the problems, after crashing my core clock would get stuck at around 400mhz. Now It crashes, restores, and returns to its usual base clock. But still, I cant figure out why its crashing. Ive ordered a 6pin power cord for my hx750

That may be the issue right there. Hook it up to a completely unused Molex string, one where the card is the only thing on it. Or unplug your fans for a bit and try it if you don't have another set of cables.

It's a card from Craigslist. Maybe it's just broken.. I have a stable 970 g1 with the latest drivers. And the 970 deserved a better power delivery then molex adapters.

Ya unfortunately im starting to think thats a possibility. He seemed trustworthy and said it was his wifes card which she never used. He was going over to amd for better directx 12 support. I have a 6pin wire on the way
