Create two drives on one drive?

I bought a 2TB HDD and Im wanting to create two different spaces on the drive. Kind of like how if you had two drives in a system and they were labeled C and D. Is there a way to do this? and How would I do so?

Disk Management.

Create simple volume and assign letter and size.

Repeat.

partition the drive with multi volumes. Its pretty easy

I currently dont have windows installed and this is the only drive in the system (laptop), should I just install windows and then go to disk management? Or how should I go about this

windows and then disk management. You could just use a trial version of windows and remove it when you are done with it too.

You can build the volumes while installing Windows. I believe you'll have to click on "New" and then set the size. I would give the OS about 256GB-500GB.

While installing windows you can partition off the drive. What are you planning to use this HDD for?

One side was going to go towards my hobby kind of stuff like graphic arts, games, and the other was for professional stuff like business and school.
