Higher than expected lifetime writes

pdubs

Hello,

I'm looking at AIDA64 stuff to find why something is going wrong (unrelated) and came across a number that seems odd.

On my 2TB hard drive, it says that I have written about 109,000 TB of data. How? On an SSD that I have had almost as long, it says just a bit under 1 TB.

I'm really just curious how it could have been rewritten completely 50,000 times. Is that normal for 3ish years of use?

edit: I know "normal" depends on how I use it. I just use it for school and games. Nothing like editing video

Yeah, false information indeed. The only drives that track NAND writes are SSDs (Not all of them do it either...I think only the newer and previous gen SSDs do it. I know my Plextor SSD from 2012 did not have NAND writes in the Smart Data)...some SSDs do and don't.
