Hi! I'm working on my first build, and I'd love some help if you guys are game.

1. Budget & Location

I'm in the US, and my budget is $1k to $1.5k

2. Aim

The primary use for this box will be gaming. As stated below, my monitors will not be able to use 4k specs, but anything is better than my old box, and solid upgrade room is much appreciated.

3. Monitors

3 monitors. The monitors all max out at 1080p, 60Hz, and I'm not looking to do surround gaming. More monitors are not planned, although upgrading in the future is a possibility.

4. Peripherals

I will need Windows, but I have a Logitech G15 keyboard and a Razer Deathadder mouse, as well as a Sennheiser Game One headset.

5. Why are you upgrading?

My old store-bought box disintegrated a while ago. As in 2011.

6. Other

Other than that, I really like the look of Cooler Master cases, like the Storm Trooper, and I want to have room for a sound card. There is no LAN in my apartment I could use for this box, so Wifi is a must.

I hope you guys can help me out! I'd really appreciate it.

Umm, how do you not have LAN access in your appartment... I think you mean no ethernet access as no LAN doesn't really make sense.... but anyway, do you mean your router is wifi only? or you will be using neighbours wifi maybe? LOL

okay. for graphics, i recommend a GTX 1060. It was made for budget 1080p gaming. Or, if you have the extra money, you could go with a 1070, which not only is a better card, but would give you the option of SLI if you wanted to upgrade your graphics in the future.

That is indeed what I meant. I've learned most of my PC building vocabulary in the last 3 days. My wouter has ethernet ports, but it is rather far from my PC. My own wifi should be sufficient for my needs.

Ahh I see, no worries... I don't know if you would want to do this, or is even a possibility, but I have a long modem lead that solves the problem of the router being too far away... but depends on if you are capable and would want to route the cable under carpets and around doorways etc... the cables for modems are pretty thin, I have squeezed mine into the gap beneath the skirting boards, or laminate flooring etc and there is negligable difference in internet speed. I have a 15 Metre modem cable and the difference in speeds using normal 1M modem cable and 15M are so small that you wouldn't notice. If your wifi is good however then that's great, shouldn't be discernable lag then.

For coolers, have a look at some of the noctua air coolers, they are very good.

And are you actually going to use 4 Terabytes? i also recommend getting a smaller Hard Drive, if you don't need that space

I've toned it back a bit, but I do like lots of space. I download a lot of FLAC files http://pcpartpicker.com/list/qYdHzM

This is a very good build. One more thing i suggest you do, is do more research on Wifi cards. That card i selected had no research behind it. I just picked a random one in 5 seconds. Although, this one might be good, do more research and look around before you actually buy one.
