I know that CMD is very lacking when it comes to any type of networking command capability which is why many people who want a powerful network CLI based tool they go to Linux and use Terminal. If PowerShell can do the same things CMD can but with more networking capability then I can see it being a replacement if it gains popularity.

After searching online for about two hours, I'm wondering, "Can PowerShell replace CMD completely?" and "Why don't we stop using CMD and move to PowerShell because PowerShell is very similar to CMD but way more powerful for administrative management?"

PowerSell supports everything that the Command Prompt supports. And if you install Bash Linux under Windows 10 Anniversary Update, Bash works with own thing, or with Command Prompt and PowerShell.

So yes, PowerShell could replace the Command Prompt, as it supports everything it can do.

So you mean Microsoft is starting to integrate Linux commands into Windows?

It is fully integrated already (no VM. Real integration). They worked with Canonical (the guys behind Ubuntu), to put Ubuntu in Windows 10. You can run Linux programs, access Windows files, have access under Linux to your system hardware. Plug in a game controller, Linux will detect it and automatically install the drivers. You can run your own server with it as well, if you want. No performance loss. The only thing you can't do properly under Linux Bash in Windows, is play games.
