Does anyone know when the 1080ti is coming out and is it going to outperform the titan xp?

Yeah no. It is going to be in between a 1080 and Titan XP but from the looks will cost more then last time around and the performance gains are nothing close to maxwell 980ti vs 980 and Titan. Then again Pascal is maxwell.

Well the xx80tis never really out perform the titans clock for clock any way, though some after market ti models overclock like champs hence surpassing it , however pascal seems to be limited on overclocking by things other than thermals or power delivery making it lose potential

I wouldn't be surprised if they never released an 1080Ti. With the hold NV has on the market right now they can keep the flagship spot with the Titan XP and reel in the cash. They probably won't do this but if they did I wouldn't be shocked. When they do release the 1080 Ti it will more or less to be so they can push the 1080 & 1070's into lower brackets to broaden their markets.

 

You can say that again about the thermals on the Titan XP. Just increasing my fan speeds got me higher clocks and better performance. The coolers they come with do the job but also limit the performance.

Who cares about the Titan Z? Both of those cards were jokes, the Z moreso. If we are talking about single GPU cards then keep it like that. Plus the 780ti AND the Titan Black were released after the 290X by over a month. Even then the 290x was only as good as a 780 at the time.

I believe those two sentences are contradictory....

But maybe they aren't because day 1 Titan was 3% ahead of 780 and just a couple of months later 780 was 3% ahead of Titan

No they aren't. You say 290X was as good. I say that it was beaten by the 780 that was in it self beat by the Titan. And no the 780 wasn't. A stock 780 vs stock Titan is slower.

290X was like how much 2~5fps behind Titan? for how much like 1/3 the price even with the mining craze? I'd say it's pretty beaten

Titan was never EVER a good price to performance card I hope you realize that. It's just the best single GPU out there. So no it's not "pretty beaten". And show me where a 780 beats a titan when both using stock clocks. The Titan is based on the same GK110 gpu but has more cuda cores to work with and can overclock as well as a 780. No driver update is going to change that unless they start fucking with the performance (which they don't).

You keep saying things but are giving no proof of it. And of course the 780ti would beat it. It has the fully unlocked core. The 780ti also came far after the Titan.
