As with the SLI setup. I hope you know that SLI does not increase the performance as you may think. Look at the video that Linus did on SLI, and you will see its not always worth it and can sometimes reduce performance instead.

You can decide on which vendor to get the parts from, but keep in mind prices of each one is different.

Yes, most factors will affect the SLI's performance gain. Some applications handle SLI very well.
