Vive or better Pc

So currently i have a Modded depcool tristellar and 1000 dollars left to spend,i was originally planning to get a 1080 and invest the left overs in Humble but would it be a good idea to keep on using the 970 from my old computer with it instead and get a vive.The specs are a 17 6700k on a Maximus 8 Impact with 16 gb of DDR4 2400 a 500Gb samsung ssd and a 4tb hybird drive with a custom loop.

the 1070 would be a better option for you as the 1080 would be overpowered

Get a 1070 and invest the rest in video games just like @Himommies or put a waterblock on a 1070 and still have some leftover for games as VR isn't mature enough to make it worth investing in it this early.
