Potentially Dead GPU

Hey there everybody, long time reader, first time poster.

I recently came to find my parents computer was turned off without them shutting it down. I hit the power button to try to boot it up but all I could get was the led power button lit and the fan that is directly connected to the PSU to show signs of life. From here I went into troubleshooting mode to figure out what was wrong. I narrowed down the suspect issues it might be starting with the ram to no success until I removed the graphics card from both the motherboard and the PSU when everything came back to life.

Is this the sign of a dead graphics card or am I not seeing something I should been troubleshooting for almost 2 hours now while google searching everything I know of.

This is the current system they are running it is old running gear with a few upgraded parts so no griefing or hate all the use is it for is basic computer usage (documents, videos and internet) and games like minecraft that don't require large over the top systems.

CPU: i7 3770 CPU @ 3.40ghz

Mother Board: ASRock H77M

Ram: 8GB (2 x 4GB) Dual Channel DDR3

Video Card: NVIDIA QUADRO 4000 (prior to issue)

Bootdrive : Kingston V300 SSD 480GB

HD: 2x 3.5" Seagate Barracuda 3TB 7200rpm

PSU: CASECOM 700W ATX Power Supply

Any help would be greatly appreciated??

If it boots and posts withOUT the GPU in and on the iGPU, then yes that graphics card is dead. That iGPU should be able to run Minecraft and do all the tasks you have listed.
