I am trying to install the Windows 10 Anniversary Update onto my Dell XPS 15 9550 and the first time I tried to install it it failed to install (I was bad and wasn't watching it because I was busy with other things so I don't know why it failed). I want to try to install it again however windows update cannot find the update to install. Is there a way I can force windows update to allow me to try to install it again?

Yeah, just follow these steps: http://www.howtogeek.com/224342/how-to-clean-install-windows-10/

It will install the anniversary update, the latest one.

I very much want to avoid a clean install. I use this computer for school and work and there are programs on it that I would not be able to install again due to the fact that I only have one time activation for them.

Most of those programs use keys which you can get back with a keyfinder.

And if your school/work is like mine, you can get more than one activating on the program.

How do you think students have the same program on multiple PCs and laptops?
