Asus GTX 1070 STRIX OC Edition SUCKS at surround!?

Can someone explain to me why my new Asus 1070 Strix OC apparently SUCKS at surround?  I am running 3840x1024 and Borderlands 2 runs at like 10FPS.
The 1070 is a replacement for my GTX 690, which ran BL2 in 3840x1024 like a breeze, easily maintaing 50-60FPS.  
What gives?

I don't know what it is, but you are doing something very wrong.

isn't the 690 a dual GPU though. That could be why.

Try reinstalling your drivers. Failing that, what are the clockspeeds and temperatures of your card while gaming.

I had the same problem with my Strix 1070, I only got 25-40 fps with rise of tomb raider 1080p

the problem was the newest driver 368.81, after i downgrade to 368.39 i got 100+

I thought it was because F@H was running, but it was only running when idle.  Will downgrade  driver.  Seriously WTF?

690 is a dual gpu card, but apparently:

That comparison is puzzling. The GTX 690 is two GK104 processors on a board. The OP's issue is not that the GTX 1070 is slower or somehow unfit for the resolution. This sounds like a driver or configuration issue.

I only have the one 1070.  I ain't made of money or I'd have multiple 1080s and a much better rig to put them in.

I didn't say anything about multiple 1070's. One GTX 1070 is still faster than a GTX 690, even if the 690 had miraculously perfect SLI scaling. By a long shot.

Somehow I got the impression you meant a second 1070 would scale 100%.

Absolutely.

Current drivers seem to be working.  Turned auto updates back on and have been fine through 2 driver releases.
