Gaming rig Advice needed

TengaBlack

planning to build a gaming pc , I'm not interested with 4k gaming and as for now, I only own a 1080p 60hz monitor. Planning to buy 1440P 144hz in future, but currently out of budget.

I need a rig to play most of the game with 60fps Max setting on 1080p/1440p, hopefully >100 for 1440p.

Here are the components I'm currently thinking of

Hard Disk  Western Digital 1TB Hard drive SATA 6gb/s 7200RPM

MotherBoard  MSI Z170A Gaming Pro CARBON

CPU Intel i5 6600k

CPU FAN Cryiorig H7

RAM RipJaw V 2400 DDR4 16gb

PSU Antec 650W 80Plus Bronze

Case Corsair Spec-Alpha white

Graphic Card MSI GTX980TI Gaming6

does above spec sufficient to achieve my goal? any advice would be appreciated

As for the graphic card, I Want to go for MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X , however, the card cost around 530 USD in my country and 980TI is around 380USD.  Is it worth topping up 150 USD to grab a 1070 or 980TI is good enough?

Its not worth it to pay that much more for GTX 1070 unless your going triple monitor.#

and for the build, It look good no compatibility issues I see atm.

You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.

Add an SSD in it, Windows becomes much faster and smoother in an SSD than a HDD

And you don't need to go 1070 if it's $150 more expensive than the 980 Ti

Thinking about it you might want to think getting a SSD into that system as it speeds up a lot of things.

A 980 TI is probably good enough for 1440p but a 1070 will last a bit longer and more power never hurts ;). Also 500W would be plenty for any single GPU setup. I would also recommend adding a SSD even if it's just 120GB for better boot times. You could also get parts shipped from the US to save money and not get price gouged (If you aren't already).

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

From what I remember the 980 Ti and the 1070 are roughly the same in performance with

the 1070 having a slight plus over the Ti. Considering the prices the 980 Ti is imo the better

choice out of the two for you.

With your setup it's probably better if you stick to a 1080p 144Hz monitor imo.

Stick with the 980Ti since you'll save the extra money and the boost out of the 1070 isn't worth the extra money IMO. Other than that the rig looks solid and you should be good to go.

So this setup isn't good enough for 1440p ? If that's the case I'll just stick to my current monitor. I hardly play FPS game, mostly MMORPG and MOBA so upgrading to 144hz 1080p isn't gonna do much =(

Not saying it's not good enough just that depending on the game you might not reach the 60+ FPS

on ultra/max settings. There shouldnt be any problems with playing games like MMOs or MOBAs

on 1440p/ultra at 100+ FPS. But games like The Witcher 3 or other games that need a strong PC

for that will probably run only at ~50 FPS average.

Did some research and found a korean 1440p monitor which can be OCed to 100mhz for a really good price.

 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Perfect-CrossOver-2795QHD-2560x1440-LG-AH-IPS-Non-Glare-27-Monitor/321719207934?_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160323102634%26meid%3D1f9cc15e00a14d388645793d22e2b90c%26pid%3D100623%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dag%26sd%3D321978963569

Reviews on reddit and other tech forums are pretty solid,  and the price is really attractive. But kinda fishy too

Any idea about this monitor? I don't mind paying 300 USD for 27" 1440p 100mhz monitor. x
