ASUS ROG PG279Q issues

Go to solution Solved by LeapFrogMasterRace,

Pretty common problem and it is reported all over the ASUS forums my suggestion is to make a post yourself and hope an admin or customer support staff sees it.

UGH .... UGH...

Honestly, for 1200$ CAD, I was hoping to get a better panel than the one I received.

I rolled the dice, hoped for a good, working panel but here we are lol

I recorded the most annoying issue yet:

It's like the screen is cut in half. It happens about 15% of the time when I alt tab or start a game. I also affects browsing or just Windows itself.

Have you guys seen this before? I tried communicating with Asus but their CS is hopeless.

This is basically false advertising on Asus's part. Not going to lie, I'm pretty pissed about this. I don't own one, but I did consider buying one/a few at the time. The amount of complaints/returns on their panels due to the back light bleeding and issues like this is ridiculous.

Just give the best/perfect ones for display/advertising, but give the others/crap ones to the customers? Really?

I just got the ASUS PG27AQ (The 4k model) and I love it. Have no problems whatsoever. In fact I'm kind of thinking of getting the PG279 for the refresh rate also.

My suggestion would be to buy it from a local store. Way easier to exchange it this way in case you run into a problem, which you probably will.

I bought 5 different panels and had all sorts of problems. You are better off getting a Predator XB271HU It's basically the same exact monitor without any of the problems.

CPU: Ryzen 5950X Ram: Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR4 3600 CL14 | Graphics: GIGABYTE GAMING OC RTX 3090 |  Mobo: GIGABYTE B550 AORUS MASTER | Storage: SEAGATE FIRECUDA 520 2TB PSU: Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 12 - 1500W | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU & LG C1

This panel is utter crap in terms of general quality. The issue you're having is very know, and was supposed to be fixed by a FW update ages ago.

Wait, FW updates? I haven't done any.

There is an updated FW that fixes this issue. You can't update it yourself tho.
