Ok, so I got the chance to try these out.

I quite liked them. I think I liked them better than my modded T50RP's.

I may want to get them, after I listen a bit more.

Any thoughts on them/reasons not to get them?

I liked them more than some of their higher end models :D

They are cheaply made and a bit overpriced, I do think that the SR125 is a tiny bit better.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

What kind of jet engine have you been standing next to?

I would agree that the SR80e is the least offensive pair in the Grado lineup, but as with most Grados they can be quite uncomfortable.

Did you try wearing them for an extended periode?

Edit: Which reminds me: @Dackzy, I asked my dad what he though of Grado and I quote:

They make great cartridges, but their headphones never did anything for me. They pretty much forces SId Vicious to be audiable, which is not something you want.

I tried the 125, but where I tried them they had massive over ear pads that messed up the fit for me.

So im not sure.

I also tried the sr60e, but I found thoes were lacking in bass.

They do feel cheaply made, but sound quite good.....

I wish that I had volbeat when I tried them, because I think they are good at that :D Yeah the sr60 does not have that much bass.

If it's possible I would suggest that you borrow a pair to try on for longer. They can get rather uncomfortable after wearing them for a prolonged periode.

I'm not saying that they will be uncomfortable for you, bui some people, including me, can't really wear the Grados with their small pads.

And the Grado sound is a love it or hate it kind of thing.

If you love them then I think you should go for it.

Grados are also really easy to mod, so you might get some fun out of that aswell.

Not really.

Apperantly his hearning is better than his age average aswell (16500Hz cut off), so that might be why. How that's possible is akin to a miracle.

His complaint was also about the bass, not the treble.

Apart from Volbeat not sounding good on anything, I can confirm that Grados can be enjoyable for rock music.

I have just never been able to understand the choices their recording engieer(s) make.

All of their albums have sounded the same way. The vocals and instruments are so compressed it always sounds like Michael has a weird pitchshift effect put on his vocals.

I was also a bigger fan of Dominus, so having a band like Volbeat around is a bit of a indian burn.

I also primarily listen to rock and metal, so I should in theory also like the Grado house sound, but I just find it fatiguing.

I don't like Dominus... (volbeat now) I really love their new album, with the rock/pop mix thingy they have going on
