8 core Xeon gaming

N I am not actually thinking of doing this but hypothetically with games starting to use 8 cores how will an 8 core Xeon do assuming there are no compatibility issues .

i don't know about anyone else but when I was 12 there would be no way my Mum would give me hundreds of dollars to buy something off the Internet, let alone Ebay.

If you really want to know how an 8 core Xeon will perform take the results of an i7 clocked down to the same a the Xeon seeing as the IPC will be pretty much the same

You know what, I don't even get why this question gets asked so much, I mean really same architecture, same thread count lower clock speed and same cache. In fact if you get E3 1275 V3 it will perform exactly the same as a 4770k at stock in applications that are not accelerated by the onboard graphics. Granted the E3 1275 is $40 more that the 4770k. The E3 1230 will in theory preform the same as an i7 clocked down 200 MHz while costing $90 less

Well a cpu is a cpu for the most part and tje xeons jave the same instruction sets as the x79 chips for the most part. So you just wont be able to oc. Though you might be able to lock the chips at max turbo.

It may be cheaper to get 2 quad cores also the speed of the cores will be faster cause I believe the 8 core are pretty low clock speed.
