GTA V Issues

So, i recently got my new PC all build and ready to game, after living with integrated graphics for the past year, I couldn't wait to get them good graphics, and with that came GTA V. I loaded the game up and was surprised how good my little 960 made the game look. But that love was soon crushed. After playing for ~10 seconds my game froze for approximately 3 seconds. I assumed it was just loading more things, but it continued to do it all through the starter missions and it was unplayable. I Tried lowering the setting but no avail. Please, i would like some suggestions.

 

Rig:

GPU: GTX 960 OC edition

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 880k

16 GB RAM

600w psu

1tb sshd

Make sure you have the most up-to-date GeForce drivers for the 960. Try again after you update drivers.

 

I would then try reinstalling the game if problems still arise.

 

Try different settings, it could be a specific setting that could be throwing you off, some of the more taxing visual effects can cause problems with your GPU, etc.

What settings are you playing at?

uninstall the graphics driver and all that bloatware that installed with it. reboot and do a custom or advanced install and only install the graphics driver.

High mostly, But i also tried lowering them and that made no difference

uninstall them. then commence to reinstall.

Sorry, im new to nvidia, where and how would i  go about uninstalling the drivers?

Go to "Programs and Features"

And uninstall the drivers just like you would with any program.

 

Uninstall them.

Restart your PC

Then use Geforce Experience to download and install the new drivers.

Again, restart your PC.

It wont let me uninstall either, it  says uninstalling failed.

I got them uninstalled but now i cant install the new drivers, and ive restarted twice.
