3x1080p curved monitors vs 3x1440p flat screen

KamilKrait15

I have the choice between 3x Asus PB258Q monitors and 3x SAMSUNG S27D590C. Both would be the exact same price here in the UK. What would you choose and why. All comments greatly appreciated. Thanks

Curved multimonitir set up looks cool, but if you need more screen real estate id go with the 1440s.

I would go with the 1440p, as you'll get more virtual real estate with the better pixel count. 1080p at 27 inches doesn't really look the best, professional CS players use these a lot so that they can split pixels with the low pixel count and high size.

don't expect to run games at triple 1440p... this might only work with 2 new Titan xp

But for work, I'd get three 1440p

gaming -> 3x 1080p

productivity -> 3x 1440p

Performance shouldn't be a problem for me. Ordered 2x gtx 1070's yesterday.

My uses: 70% gaming. 30%productivity

3x 1440p is more pixels then 4k, so I doubt even 1070 SLI can keep up.

Also, very few games support proper Surround, plus its buggy as hell. Its the reason why I went away from it and are now only gaming on 1 monitor.

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.

you make it sound as if 2x1070's are not capable at running games at even 4k.  They are MORE than enough for 4k and should be the sweet spot for surround gaming. This thread has NOTHING to do with single monitors. If you wish have your say please make it relevant to this subject. Thanks

I have been gaming on 3x 1440 in portrait, so I know a thing or 2 about it.

And about keeping up, my 980Ti SLI could only handle that resolution on about medium to high settings, when aiming for 60 fps. But even then so did I dip down to mid 30 from time to time. Not to mention that very few games supported the resolution.

All of that combined makes me recommend gaming on 1 monitor only.

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.
