Ultrabook isn't reading the correct display resolution?

daenaera

Hi LTT forums. help?

I own a Lenovo ideapad U310 with a supposed display resolution of 1366x768. For some reason, it refuses to read this resolution and the display maxes out at 1280x800, leaving me with an unusable black strip to the right of the screen. This resolution also means I can only see a millimeter of the taskbar.

It's running Windows 10 64-bit, and I've tried everything - updated the graphics driver, performed a full reset, etc. Nothing's working, and I really don't think it's the graphics drivers, since the display is already askew from the BIOS screen. I'll attach a couple of photos for reference.

Any insight would be so very appreciated!

Love from the Philippines. :x

I remember someone with his xp laptop having similar issues, never got solved iirc. I'm dying to find out what magic makes this happen.

it's just the most utterly mystifying thing!

I mean, yes sure, I can restart my laptop x infinity until the resolution corrects itself but I don't feel that's really addressing the issue. would love to find out what even gives.

there is no GPU. Intel onboard graphics, and yes the drivers are updated.
