Gaming keyboards

Trouble Kelp

I want to get a gaming keyboard preferably mechanical (right now I have an apple keyboard). I found the Razer tarantula and the Steelseries Merc stealth for reasonable prices and I was wondering if they were mechanical and which is better. I was also interested in the CM Storm Trigger but it's pushing my budget a little is it worth it. I would also take other suggestions for gaming keyboards.

Both of those are membrane, all membranes are the same basically, just different features like macro keys and stuff....

The trigger is mechanical.

Why do you want a "gaming" keyboard? you want macro keys on the side or what?

Also what is your budget..

Definintely go for a mechanical keyboard if you can stretch your budget a bit, it's worth every extra cent. I would advise that you stay away from 'gaming' keyboards (like Razer's keyboards), go for CM, Corsair, Logitech, Ducky, although these are all more expensives.

CM Storm Trigger is the best option in your case IMO.

I would rather have a mechanical keyboard than a membrane "gaming" keyboard. My budget is roughly $60 but I am willing to go higher if I find one that I really like. My priority is build quality but I also would like a backlight. I think the Ducky Shine 3 looks really nice but is a little to far above my budget (I would go up to ~120) and I can't find many places to buy ducky keyboards.
