How to Anodize Aluminium?

@AluminiumTech (Im just assuming you know things about this because of your username)

 

So, as the name suggests, I would like to know how to anodize aluminium for a future computer case (hopefully), also I will be going into a machining class this year and I would like to have some prior knowledge.

For anodizing aluminium you need heated baths, acids for etching, and dyes if you want to do coloring. It's not overly complicated but does require a bit of setup to get things all ready. This should probably give you a good idea of what you may be looking at:

Well the process is simple but that's about it. I'll need a job and a house before I can do this.

Yeah it's mainly setup more than anything else, once you have something ready to go you can bang out lots of parts. If your making things out of steel and such as long as you have access to an oven you can also blue to heat color the metal also as an option.

I'm not 100% how it works but this guide kinda looks decent.

EDIT: it also goes without saying that since you're doing this DIY, you won't be able to bead blast it :(.
