So, when I saw the Tom's Hardware benchmarks I was kind of disappointed since it showed the 280x was out preformed by the 7970 GE. Are they just benchmarking the 280x reference card? (Review) Every other benchmark I'm seeing of the ASUS, MSI, Sapphire, or Gigabyte non-reference cards all out preform (by only a small percentage) or are equal to the 7970 GE.

uh the 290 none X is competing with the 780 and the 290x is beating the Titan from the leaks the 290 is hawaii and the 290x is also hawaii based its the 280x thats a 7970 GHz

780 is about 5% slower than titan, so if you compete with one you compete with both

I expected what I'm seeing in all the benchmarks. My question was just if non-reference 280x cards are less powerful than the 7970 ghz edition? The Tom's Hardware review said at the end, that the 280x is LESS powerful than the 7970 ghz which shows in their benchmarks. But what I'm wondering is are they talking about the reference card or are they talking about the ASUS and XFX cards they say they have in the beginning in the review?
