ram OC and timings.

so me and a friend are mucking around trying to oc his ram.

he has a 3400mhz kits of gskill ripjaws 5 timings 16 16 18 38. so far we have managed to get 3600mhz without changing the timings. is this good?

 

what would you guys reccomend he do and how to go about setting the timings and what would be some realistic numbers?

Unless you're using a RAM Disk, you'll notice very little overall performance, if any.

That is good though, but be sure to run IBT for 10 passes at max RAM.

alright ill do that, aida64 ram test has been running 30mins without issue.

Prime95, use custom mode with FTT 1024~4096 (uncheck "Run in-place", run each FTT for 1h and set memory to about half the available). Perfect for RAM testing. Give it some nice 8h burn ins and you should be good.

ok first 2 runs of ibt went fine 3rd one bsod. raise timings slightly or add more volts?
