So I recently picked up a Logitech G402 and there is a button where you rest your thumb and it is coated with glossy paint or is made of glossy plastic. I have found that I hate the glossy plastic button because If I have anything on my fingers like water, grease, ect the button will suck it up and it will stick on top of it. What could I do just sand it down with sand paper and put painting tape around it to not scratch the surrounding plastic?

You could take some matte or textured vinyl and wrap the button.
