i5 6600 vs 6600k

Is the i5 6600k worth the additional $20 or does it not really matter.

Ignore the original post. I was reading my prices wrong. Sorry!

if you're getting a z chipset mobo get the k part, otherwise get the non-k part (chances are your mobo will be a bigger price difference than your cpu)

Depends... if you have a Z170 mobo, yeah, it's totally worth it. If you don't... well, consider the 6500, which should be considerably cheaper.

I don't plan on getting an overclocking motherboard. Do you still think that the price for performance on the 6500 is better than a 6600?

Shame, locked SKUs really benefit from faster RAM... Oh well, if you are dead set on an non-OC mobo, get the 6500 for sure. Not worth the extra to get a 6600.

What was your GPU and monitor?

I plan to base the build/ upgrade around a rx 480. Also, a have a 1440p 60 hz hp monitor

I mean Im not completely set on not getting a z170 mobo. The best one a could find was around $104.
