That would probably be fine for 900P gaming CPU wise, although with the built in GPU you are not going to be able to play modern games at 720P even at the lowest setting. Maybe look into getting a 4 or 6 core AMD CPU and getting a dedicated GPU, if you can swing it the RX 480 4GB version is around $200 and it will blow everything out of the water at 720P to 900P.

From what I can see the last gen i5 (i5-4460) will most likely edge out the newer i3 just by a few percent. So I would go with whichever costs less. Again though a AMD FX-4350 is about $80 on newegg and wont be a bottleneck for 720P or even 900P gaming especially with DX12 and Vulcan now starting to take off. If you can swing the intel CPU and a dedicated GPU though I would say go intel but you will need a dedicated GPU for any kind of modern gaming even at 720P.

There is no mobo that won't support the on board graphics.

The different costs have different features. Stuff like overclocking support for k cpus (like the 6600k), more pcie expansion slots, more SATA ports, etc.

You should look for an h110 or b150 chipset if you don't plan on getting a k cpu.

My rig:
CPU: i5 4690k 24/7 @4.4ghz (1.165v) Max 4.7ghz (1.325v) COOLER: NZXT Kraken X61 MOBO: Asus Z97-A   RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical   GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SSC   PSU: EVGA GS 650W   CASE: NZXT Phantom 530 HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB + WD Black 2TB

All motherboard for the i3-6100 will support onboard graphics since the GPU is built into the i3-6100 itself, When it comes to which motherboard to get I would just look at reviews. They all pretty much will get the job done, it just comes down to build quality, included features, and overall quality of the board but the better one you get the higher the price, reviews are the only good way to tell if its a good board or not. Just make sure the board has an LGA 1151 socket since that is the socket the i3-6100 uses.

An i3 is better then a fx 6300, or 860k for gaming, and the igpu is comperable to a r7 240. This is enough to play games like gta V and other intense games at 720p.

Benchmarks for the intel HD 530 show a different story, Far Cry Primal at 720P lowest settings gets an average of 16FPS, The Division 17FPS, Rise of the Tomb Raider 17FPS, So any relatively new game will not be playable.

There is a difference between mobile 530 and desktop 530 graphics.

If you are trying to be funny, then you should get better jokes.

In the benchmarks I linked they were ran on a desktop i7-6700, 6700K and the mobile 6700HQ, regardless, even if the notebook cards got an average or 17FPS, even at that from your resources the desktop GPU shows a boost of about 13% (might I add thats based on user data where they may have overclocked the iGPU) even so a 13% boost to 17FPS is 19FPS, still unplayable.
