So I'm planning to built my own computer in the near future when ever I accumulate enough money. In the mean time, I want to see what you guys think of my plan and some changes to make.

1. Budget & Location

I live in Southern California (9% tax) and was thinking of a budget been $2000~$2600 USD.(budget change from $3000) Probably lower if possible.

2. Aim

I'm not really much of a hardcore gamer. The only games I play atm: Aion, Starcraft II, League of Legends and Final Fantasy XIV.

I also do a moderate amount of photo editing and some video editing. Programs I current use: Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects.

3. Monitors

I current plan to use 1 monitor but maybe will go with 2 in the future future. Will definitely run at least 1080p.

4. Peripherals

As for peripherals, I have a decent mouse and speakers so I won't be needing that. Will be need a monitor, keyboard and OS though.

5. Why are you upgrading?

I'm upgrading because my current laptop broke to the point that I can't fix it and it would be better just to get a new computer.

Here is my current build list:

A single 760 is a waste on this high of a budget.

Replace 7970 with R9 280x if you can wait

This is a better build the AMD graphics will assist in the acceleration of the adobe programs that you use. You could downsize the graphics as those games you play aren't very graphically intensive.

GPU and PSU changed. SSD replaced with a bigger size. Windows 8 instead of Pro.
I kind of like the x79 deluxe motherboard with the bluetooth 4.0, gold color scheme and wifi :P
might go with the R9 280x..

What kind of content are you editing? What version of After Effects are you using?

HD video editing/making (1080p) and photo correction and fixing.

Will I be able do this with a i7 4770k build? posted the parts list on my first post

well if he is doing much editing. read OP's post and he said that he mostly is editing so he would need a I7 CPU and not a i5

if he is doing so much editing then he even could move to 4930k but only if he have money and its necesarry

If he's just doing amateur work, he doesn't need to spend that much.

Just because someone is editing footage doesn't mean they need an i7. Editing home videos does not automatically warrant an i7.

photo editing is a side job. video editing is just a hobby/passion

In that case, my recommendations are: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1OOjF

Crossfire ready. No need to spend so much.

i guess you could say youtube/vimeo video. short films and timelapse would probably sum it up better :D

well if you doing it in very good quality and its kinda hard work then i would recommend a i7 4770k to get the rendering time much faster and the 8 threads will help alot.

saw you have a budget on 2700 USD here is a 4930k build which i would recommend too if u want to. much more power but still in budget:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1OP2p

i did not put any casefans put ur own fans u want:) u will need a Bios update before installing windows if u dont know how to do watch some utube vids its easy:D
