PC not able to turn on when i put my graphics card.

kdcm17

I built my first PC about 2 weeks ago with a 6600k,Powercolor r9 390, MSI Z170 M5 MOBO, and a CX750M psu. It was working fine until last night I went home and I just wouldn't turn on. So I troubleshooted and tested if the PSU was wrong and changed the position of the memory and it still wasn't working. But when I took out the GPU, it suddenly worked. When I plug in the 8 + 6 pin power connector to the GPU it just won't work. But when I take it out, it runs perfectly fine. Even when the GPU is connected to the PCIE and not connected to the PSU it works. Help!!! Is my GPU broken or is my PSU too weak for my build? (It was working for 2 weeks with the exact same parts)

The PSU is plenty strong, but may be defective. Id say to take the GPU and PSU somewhere to be tested like a local Microcenter or Computer Repair Shop.

A 750w PSU should have multiple PCIe cables. Have you tried using the other ones?

No, I will try using other PCIE cables. And does microcenter do it for free or do they charge for it to be tested

I actually dont know. I would assume it would be free or very minimal cost if theyre just tossing a GPU onto a test bench
