Painting SSD Strip

arch_linuxos

I just purchased this SSD (see link; might have to refresh a lot, their website is being buggy for me at least) because of some good promos I had on Newegg, but the only issue is that the red strip doesn't match my color scheme (all black/white with green GeForce LED as only color).

Somehow, I need to color it black. Right now I'm thinking just covering it in tape and then spray painting it with some black spraypaint I have. I assume that'll work fine, but if there are any better ways then that would be great. Thanks!

Take the ssd apart and place the ssd internals somewhere safe, And then paint over the whole entire thing with plasti dip without primer.

you could always just plastidip it. i don;t think you need to take it apart, but it's never a bad thing to be safe, right?

otherwise you could always just stick some wrap on top of your SSD to make it look super stealthy!

to be honest, if it's such a little strip i wouldnt bother disassembling it for painting. just tape it up all around with at least one layer of painters tape, leave the red strip exposed, and give it a few sprays of paint.

Ok, I'll make sure the internals stay safe. Thanks for the tip. Any reason to use plastidip over spraypaint (besides it being removable)?

What do you mean by wrap? Sorry for noob question, only other modding I've really done is LED strips lol.

Oh ok, thanks! I'll look into that if I can find some vinyl around.
