Hey, so I know Laptops are bad for gaming but I have some issues relating to the specifications for games. I have apparently the recommended specs for The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, however I can barely run it just like most of the other games I try. This really frustrates me. So I think it could be throttling or something like that (Not an expert) but really this is just so annoying. My specs are dated yeah but surely I should be able to run some games from the past few years. I have even seen Youtube videos of people playing these games with the same specs as me but I just can't seem to run anything.

My specs:

CPU: AMD A8-6410 APU

GPU: AMD Radeon R5 Graphics

RAM: 8.00 GB

Yea, you apu is a low end apu from a few years ago, and wont do well. You numbers seem about right compared to the others on the internet.

That's not the reason

Let me guess, HP or Acer? Regardless, it's overheating as that laptop is NOT MEANT for gaming. If you want to game on a laptop, you buy a 600$ machine which has the cooling capacity to support it's hardware under a 3D workload, not a 200$ cheapo system meant for cat videos and porn

I'm just annoyed that I have the recommended requirements yet a git like 20fps on Skyrim.

Well I am in the middle of trying to get a new desktop for gaming. However I know someone with lower system requirements than me who can manage to run games better than me. It's just annoying.

Cause you chose a poor laptop. If you buy a laptop with proper cooling you won't have an issues.
