Hey! I'm getting this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/kg2QZ8 and do not know what air cooler to get. Aesthetics matter to me so I don't want one of the Noctua fans. Ideally I would spend around $80 but could spend a little more. I am looking at the Cryorig R1 Ultimate but am not sure if I should go for it. Also I'm not sure if PcPartPicker checks if coolers will overlap with ram so if you could help by making sure the recommendation that you are making fits that would be very helpful (or if you told me how to check or that PcPartPicker does a check for that). Thanks!

The R1 Ultimate will overhang RAM slots. The R1 Universal will not. I can also recommend the H5. I have the Ultimate and love it, but you'd want the Universal to stay clear of your RAM.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Alright. So basically it won't let me put in RAM, right? Also how much better is the R1 compared to the H5?

Do you know how that performs next to the R1 Universal/Ultimate?

Performs ever so slightly better and is quieter (hence, the beQuiet! branding :P).

I see it on a place called Aquatuning, do you know if they are trustworthy?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a German retailer? They should be trustworthy.

Also I just realized it says "Delivery date unknown"... Is there anywhere else I can find it for a reasonable price or should I just get a different cooler?

One more thing, could I just put my 2 RAM sticks in slots that aren't being covered? If so, would that affect performance in a noticable way?

Sounds like it's out of stock... If you can't find it, I'd suggest just grabbing the R1 Ultimate.

Alright, but aisle9 said it would cover the RAM. Does that mean I need to get the R1 Universal or just use different RAM slots (Would that make a performance difference?)

That depends on what RAM you have. If it's low-profile memory, it should work. Using different RAM slots won't make a difference.

Otherwise, do what he suggested and grab the Universal. The performance difference would be 1-2 C at most.

I'm using G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-3000. What do you recommend I do?

Do you think I would have 2 open ram slots? If so, I could get the ultimate

You could just raise the fan.

A Macho X2 is a cheaper option that performs almost as well: http://pcpartpicker.com/product/ZsL7YJ/thermalright-cpu-cooler-machox2limitededition
