Can i use a wireless access point as a network adapter?

katiekitsune

As the title suggests I'd like to try to use an access point as a wireless adapter by connecting a SFF PC to it via Ethernet. Is this a viable option if I can't run Ethernet to my router or trust USB adapters?

Sure, if the firmware supports configuring it in "Client Bridge" mode or similar.

Is media bridge mode the same thing?

I don't want to say for sure, as that is not a generic term.  Perhaps you could tell us what you're running as the wireless access point/"router", and someone could help you research it and find out for sure.

You could also try some experimentation in the settings.  You will need to find a setting that allows the device to be associated with an access point.  If the "media bridge" settings don't allow for this, then its definitely *not* a client bridge feature.
