Notification sound bug

In Chrome I'm getting an issue where I'm not hearing the new post notification sound until I switch to the tab that has the thread on it. I still get the chrome popup notifications. Now the main problem is that for each notification sound that should have played, the sound is that many times louder than it should be: as if all the notification sounds have been building up to all play at once. For threads with 2 new posts this is pretty bad, but when you get 10+ posts this gets deafening.

Can you open the dev tools to the console tab, and just leave it open. When you experience one of these, can you then screenshot the console and post it here?

Sure. Nothing out of the ordinary showed up. I see those syntax errors on pretty much every page.
