Why not just build a pc for your budget and pay NCIX $50 to build it for you? i think they also include a OS if you go to them

He's in LONDON the shipping would crucify him.

To the OP google " pre built PC's London " 33million results. You are unlikely to get recommendations from here of pre-builts the vast majority here build their own.  Or have reaserched/assembled the parts and had a freind build it

Shipping is NOT free, from Canada to the UK is likely to be extortionate

You really think shipping something the size and weight of a PC from Canada to the UK will only be $40 ?

Not everyone can spend $200 on shipping and risk the items being damaged and order them again while wait 2 months for them.

Yeah, PC Specialist is the biggest. Scan and Overclockers do them too, and there are smaller firms as well, like Cyberpower, Computer Planet, Box, Chillblast, there's loads.

Well I just went on to the NCIX website and shipping of a PC ( with no KB,mouse or monitor) was in the $200 region then you have insurance (if taken)and taxes (if paid) on top of that, a bit more than $40 .

Well which one do you recommend? And one more thing. Currys pcs are crap right? As well as their service

Currys/PC world do not build their own they only act as sellers for Lenovo, HP, Acer, Asus etc etc

If you know what you are looking for where you actually buy the PC is pretty moot (it all hinges on price/customer service/value adds).

Not bought a pre-built in years[1]so I couldn't say which company has a good rep for systems, also unable to tell you good retailers local to you as I am in Scotand not London, but still not as far as North America.

[1] Sort of told a lie there No2 son (23 so autonomous but still at home) got a Lenovo all in one from John Lewis, maybe because they are a co-op rather than a business their service seemed first rate.  Has been one problem, JL checked it wasn't something obvious and had unit sent to Lenovo for the actual fix.

I have only ordered a full PC from PC Specialist. It was well assembled and good delivery, no real complaints that I have. I think they installed Windows already which was neat.

The only problem with PCSpecialist, or at least when I bought mine, was on their system builder the default PSUs and GPUs were ones that they chose themselves. eg if you select "500W PSU", you don't know what PSU you will be getting so you should defo pay more and get a specific model. and with the GPUs, if you selected like a GTX 680 you had no idea what the model would be, what cooler it would have. I dont know if that is still the case with them.

Scan is great, I buy all my parts from them as they have next day delivery, good customer service, fantastic finance, and extra limited insurance - pay £20 and if you break anything in the first two weeks from receipt, then they give you a new one. However I haven't used their custom builder so can't comment on that.

Oh and yeah, I wouldn't recommend a desktop system from any manufacturer tbh, and PC World doesn't offer any custom builds.

PC World service is terrible, they scammed me into a direct debit without my permission which is fucking bullshit. I would still buy peripherals from them as I like testing them in the store but wouldn't buy anything else.

Pre builts in a nut shell.  ;)

How bad(relatively) the PCs are is not really Currys/PCworlds fault, it is more the choices the manufacturers make at those price points.
