Thanks for those who will read my thread and answer.

So, I had a R9 270X back in January 2015, after my first expensive GPU died, I frequently searching till now what was the main reason why my card died just about 1yr and 2mos of use. One of them are "Heat", 2nd "GPU always at 100% load (I never OC my GPU just the stock)", and more... PS my card was SAPPHIRE don't buy from them please!

Then I'm planning to buy a new rig now and thinking a GPU between 1070-1060. Here's my opinion on these 2 cards please correct me if I'm wrong, I want to buy the 1060 because it's the most powerful GPU now that draw so much low power, 120W right? So, low power means less heat, less heat means more life spannnn? yeyyy. And on the 1070 I think 150W? F*** me I forgot, so a little bit increase of power means much shorter life span compare to 1060, right?

If you gonna look up again I said that one of the main reason I searched why my GPU died is the "GPU is always at 100% load". So, I just really want a good gaming GPU that can last up to 3-5 years, not that F***ing SAPPHIRE. So, if I'm gonna pick the 1060 I still have a problem because I'm planning to run all my games in 1080p at highest settings as possible. I saw tons of benchmark now on both 1070 and 1060, the 1060 can run most games that "I WANT", someitmes over 100FPS. Mainly competetive one like Overwatch, BF1, StarWBF, LoL at 1080p/Max. But I'm not just a competitive player I LOVE single player too specially "Skyrim" *sighs* I saw the witcher 3/ the division/farcryprimal/justcause3  etc. running on 1060 and the 1060 can't give a minimum FPS of 80, it dropping on 30-40FPS? specially on Witcher and on the the Division so basically the 1060 having difficulties producing over 60FPS at minimum, meaning it's working too hard, meaning it's working 100% load, meaning it might get tired much more easily and rest? And let's talk about my opinion on 1070 now basically it's like a vice versa of 1060, ow of course I'm worrying for the price too, here in the Philippines price for the Asus Strix gaming 1070 is $600. and for the 1060 no good aftermarket brand yet, but the reference price for the 1060 here is $319. So, aftermarket like from asus, msi, giga, evga. will cost around I think $350-$450. OKAY, let's continue to our main topic here, so for the 1070 I think if I'm running all those games at 1080p it would't work too hard because 1070 can handle all those games in 1080p with one hand, means not working 100% load because 1070 is..... you know how it can do. but the power draw it's quite big compare to 1060, Specially aftermarket 1070 designs they adding more pcie power slot so it will draw much more power compare to a 1070 reference.

Pardon my grammar if it's poor, I don't know hahaha. I hope you understand what I really meant on this thread, and are those facts? all about what I'm saying if 100% load most of the if might shorten a life span of a device? or the power that past through to PCB, if it always or most of the time is high does it mean it might shorten the life span too? Please tell me if I'm out of my mind because I'm and idiot that's not right blah, blah, blah, and please tell me if I'm right Thank you. ~ STILL DO NOT TRUST SAPPHIRE, EVEN AMD LET ME DOWN I'M NOT BLAMING THEM COZ I'M STILL USING AN APU FROM AMD, THEIR APU/CPUS ARE SUPERB WHEN IT COMES TO LIFE SPAN. NO CHOICE? WANT AN AMD CARD, PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM SAPPHIRE, THERE ARE LOT OF GOOD BRAND OUT THERE I.E. MSI ASUS... GTGtoSleep

Not trolling but Sapphire is an excellent company. I'm really sorry you had a bad experience but their cards are some of the best Radeon cards money can buy.

Agreed. And Asus are shit and should feel bad.

Just because a product consumes more power, doesn't necessarily mean it has a shorter life span.

Just sounds like bad luck to me, there's plenty of reason to get Sapphire products since they're the top brand for AMD cards.

No, it means it has no warranty as Asus don't honor warranties in 50% of the cases for shits and giggles.

Asus makes decent products, out of every product I've had they've all been pretty solid. However in the chance you do have a product fail good luck getting it replaced.

@OP - at 1080p anything under an i7 3770 or OCed 6600K WILL bottleneck the 1070.

Yeah, parroting the rest, sapphire makes the best amd cards.  Also, I like my 1070 strix a ton, but I would pay $600 for it.  Especially if you can get a 1060 for $320

I've never had a problem with asus cards. Had three of so far.

Have you tried an RMA? Good luck, you'll need it

was there a question in that mess?

I think he's asking if the 1070 will die due to power draw. Honestly not sure, the grammar is all over the place and punctuation is non-existent.

Well, no, and that states to the quality of the cards.   I have a gtx 280 from asus that still works great.  I have rma'd a z77 saber tooth and it was completely painless.  You always speak in extremes that represent a small minority of experiences, which most companies have some of.

Getting a mix of things, I think there is something about GPU lifespan in there too.

I sent them a BROKEN GPU - got told it works alright and it's being shipped back to me. Screw em'.

But yet I tried to contact them about a laptop power jack issue which was still under warranty. Decided to fix it myself because I was done screwing around, works fine now.

I'm very sorry you had a bad experience.  People have had experiences with every company. It sounds like you got screwed, and that isn't right.  But that doesn't mean Asus screws every customer, or that other companies can't be just as bad.  Hating, or loving any one company seems petty in my mind.  That being said, i can totally understand you never giving them your money again,,and deservedly so.  They haven't earned that from me yet, which is why I have an Asus gpu and mobo.

Well, normally I'd agree but I've seen a LOT of people with similar stories to mine - some have had their 1000$ laptops vanish into thin air after being sent to RMA. It's just not a good warranty service.
