What's the difference between amd CPUs and intels because I just want a pc for gaming only and the amd CPUs look a lot cheaper than intels so what would be the best a cheapest for just gaming?

Well I don't really have a budget I just want to know which one is a better deal and the 6 core cpu for amd is way less than intels why is that?

The 6 core amd cpus are eqv in performance to a dual core intel cpu. Look at benchmark sites like anandtech to find out which one is faster. 

 

Clock speed and core count don't directly affect performance.

Because the individual cores of AMD's CPUs is weaker in comparison to Intel ones. Games prefer to have fewer, faster cores rather than more slower cores. Ideally, an Intel i5 is what you should be aiming at.

a core i5 4460 would be faster for about 200.

if you have a 4170 currently, you can only upgrade to a 4460 with out changing your motherboard. A 6500 is only about 5% faster and not worth the extra 150 for a new motherboard and ram.

No, only the k cpu's can overclock with the z series motherboards. 

 

Don't worry about clockspeed. It doesnt mean anything.
