Controller and Motorola Razr

Hey guys, 
I want to connect my razr with a controller (wired 360) since the razr dosen't have a full host ability i need external power.

I power both controller and Razr over a 5v / 1000mAh adapter. 
The phone charges and the controller flashes so both have power but only if I connect them seperatly if i connect both the phone charges but the controller stops flashing as soon as I plug in the Phone. 
Over the "usb host contoller" app I can see that the phone recognizes the controller.
But it dosen't work. 
I seriously have no idea why it is not working. Since the phone shows that the controller is connected.

Any Ideas? 

Edit: I can connect other devices like a usb sticks and  a mouse.

Have you tried a bluetooth controller?
