My £1100 Corsair Dream Machine

Froggyy0

Right guys!
Some of you will have seen me post 2 build plans in the last 6 months,
This is still that build plan, with a lot of things changed and altered!
So this is HOPEFULLY the final plan for this build!

Planned Workload:

Okay guys,
The planned workload of this build is occasional Gaming and Light video editing.

The games I'm planning on playing are:

BF3/BF4

Minecraft

CoD (w00t)

World of Warcraft

League of Legends

Gary's Mod

Team Fortress 2

Yeah not all of these games need a high end PC but it's nice to be able to play games like BF3 and WoW on ultra

Editing Programs:

Sony Vegas Pro 10 (Main use)

Adobe After Effects CS6

Adobe Premier Pro CS6

Adobe Photoshop CS6

Cinema 4D R13 (Rare use)

I don't really do any extremely high-workload editing so an 8-Core AMD dream machine is unnecessary.

The Build:

Right, down to the build...

My budget for the build, not including peripherals is around £1100

So here it is:

Case: Corsair 350D Windowed

Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VI GENE (1150-z87)

CPU: Intel 4670k @ 3.4GHz (Stock)

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i

RAM: Corsair Vengeance PRO 8GB 1866MHz

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 760 2GB OC

PSU: Corsair AX760 80+ Platinum

SSD-Boot: Corsair FORCE Series LS 120gb SSD

HDD-Storage: WD Black 1TB

                                                              TOTAL PRICE: £1084.19

All parts came from Scan as i think they give the better deal.

Peripherals:

Monitors: 2x LG 22" IPS LED Monitor (22ea53vq)

Mouse: Razer Mamba

Keyboard: ?

I need keyboard suggestions!

-Cherry MX Red Switches

-Preferably back lit (Red LEDS if possible, might as well match)

-Short keyboard (No number pad)

     -Thanks for reading guys!

        -Suggestions are more than welcome!

You could go with the core i7 4770k as it would come in handy for video editing purposes. Otherwise it is an awesome build!

Also go with 1600 Mhz memory kit and save some cash as higher clocks do not give a lot of performance boost and you could overclock your RAM anyways.Try something cheaper than the Mamba as I think it is sort of a pricy piece of trash .

FX 6300 @ 4.2 Gigahurtz 1.325V ,  ASRock 970 Extreme 4 mobo  ,  Kingston Hyperx Blu 2X4GB @1600Mhz  , Asus GTX 960 DCU ii Black OC  , Hyper 212 Evo , Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB , WD 1 TB caviar Green , Xonar DG sound card , Seasonic M12ii Evo 620W PSU , Corsair 200R case ,4 random case fans.

Go for an 8350. What you said about not needing an 8-core AMD makes no sense. Go for an AMD card. They will be very cheap very soon and games like BF4 are optimised for them. Just get 1600Mhz RAM. And get a lower wattage PSU.

I'm not sure if i can justify spending (And going over budget) the extra money for the hyper-threading, do you think it's worth it?

-Thanks, Evan.

it would certainly help with Vegas also ditch the 760 and get a 7970 GHz (will drop in price even more soon).

something like this

This is very similar to what I'm getting for gaming/video, except I am going to wait for R9 series cards and see what will be better then. To get up to 1.1k, which is the budget, I'd get a 4770K, more storage or 16gb RAM (which ever you need more)

Case: Xigmatek Alfar (Black) | CPU: Intel Core i5 4460 @3.2GHz | MoBo: Gigabyte GA-Z87-D3HP | RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 1600MHz | GFX: Gigabyte GTX 660Ti 2GB
Cooler: beQuiet! Shadow Rock | SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB | HDD: Seagate 'Barracuda' 2TB| OS: Windows 8.1 PRO (64-bit) | PSU: Zalman ZM600-GT 600W 80+ Bronze
Screen: ASUS VS228 | Mouse: Razer Naga Molten | Headphones: Qpad QH-85 | Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow 2013 w/ Cherry MX Blue

How heavy are you on After Effects? AE on CS6 can't use OpenCL for acceleration.
