I know its the same old question.

Okay, so my CPU and GPU reach 88 C while gaming.

And again "Are these temperatures safe?"

CPU - no, keep it under 75 for intel and under 70 for AMD
GPU - not really - keep it under 80

Its a Core i3 4010U @ 1.70GHz

I get 20-30FPS

If I keep it under 70 and 80, I can hardly game.

Any other solution?

It's not going to burn your CPU, but it's not good keeping that temp while gaming

Don't game on a laptop that is not meant for gaming?

They are technically within the safe boundaries for most hardware.

However, we need to know specifically which gpu, cpu, and cpu cooler you have.

HP, why am I not surprised. Well, guess it could've been worse - it could've been Acer.

Either sell it and get a new one or stop gaming on it.

No surprise there, that laptop isn't meant to game

IMHO any laptops with AMD GPU on it are hot like toaster when under heavy load

That's my experience from my sis's old vaio with an ATI 5450m on it

LOL, well since it is a notebook, then those temps are totally normal while under heavy load. The fact that you can do any gaming on a laptop i3 is impressive.

At first I could hardly get 20FPS in any game!

The I removed the HP drivers and installed Intel and AMD drivers from their websites, now I get 10-20 FPS on Crysis 3 in Medium settings 1366x768

Depends on the laptop. The AMD Y700 (assuming you remove the shitty filter) runs at 65-70*C

You can try opening up the laptop and dusting out the heatsink. Only do this if you feel confident in your taking apart skills though.

When in doubt, re-format.

Well, I have taken apart my old Dell laptop to replace the CMOS battery, but this HP is under warranty until April or May
