Charge computer from car

Hi guys i would like to charge my macbook air from the car and i don't find anything without a lot of bad comments.

Get one of them connectors that go into the car socket and put the usb end in the usb port and then put the mac socket end in the mac port end

Get one of these and use the mac port instead of the tomtom one

This is really a bad idea unless you drive like a big SUV or MPV or something. Because your car doesn't actually produce much extra electricity. You could even burn up your car electronics.

That would not provide the necessary power to power any computer, thats for GPS and Phones not for a full fledged computer.

Used an Inverter with my 06 Ford Focus, Not one issue with the car.

It might be enough for a Macbook Air but once the OP tries to use it with something more powerful then problems will arise.
