computer slowing down

my computer lately slows down sometimes.  its custom built running a core i7 4790k with 16gb of ram and a 960 gpu.  i ran a full system virus scan and nothing was found.  any suggestions to help improve the speed.  the computer is just about a year old

check to make sure trim is actually enabled... if running ssd.

defraggs? (HD')

power cycle modem.

Run a malware scan too. I recently ended up with some adware that used a rootkit to hide itself from windows explorer and AV software. Malwarebytes cleared it up, then AVG instantly detected the adware and removed it.

Did you recently install a new program that may be running in the background? Is your hard drive showing a lot of activity? My computer sometimes runs slowly when my HDD is showing a lot of activity.

havent installed any programs recently i have the samsung 850 evo ssd,  do they have any software to help?

the ssd was installed when i built the computer just about a year ago

run ccleaner, mbam and eset. should run better after

cut up and use a beer can as a deflector and "wrap" it around the the wifi router.

Nothing. In order to run a wired connection, you'll have to run a cord from your computer to your router.
