So I have a 4 core i-5 650 @ 3.20 gigahertz. My current graphics card is an amd radeon 5700 series. If i upgraded this to a rx 480, probably the 4gb model, would i bottleneck it because of the processor?

Also as a side note, would it be better to run just the rx 480 if i upgraded, or to put the 480 and the 5700 together in crossfire. Thank you!

Definite bottleneck. Also no you can't run the 480 with the 5770 together since they are completely different gpus using different architecture. Personally I'd try and find an i7 860 off of ebay, overclock it and run that with the 480.

Sorry, i am somewhat new to this. Also, for the future, would you think that adding a  second rx 480 would significantly increase performance? crossfire seems to be a mixed bag that way.

Not with that CPU. If you had a CPU that could keep up, then sure, but you'd be better off just getting a stronger card.

ok. I have no experience with OCing, so what is the min processor that i would need to run this card well without OC?

This would be distant future. Several years prob. With a decent processor, would it be worth it IYO? (also, i am a budget gamer. So, please keep this in mind.)

an i5 6400 with a z170 motherboard (or h110 if you are on a budget) with a single stick of 8gb ddr4 and either an rx 480 or gtx 1060 would be quite good build with room for upgrade.

thanks! sorry for taking up your time. Ill be sure to look into those! (i am actually looking to upgrade an existing rig, so i have 12gb ddr3 ram at an unknown speed, and  a intel DQ57TM motherboard.) I will look into upgrading what i need overtime though! Once again, thank you for your time.
